Puffball Dresses for every occasion!

This time of year is always a little tricky don't you think?

One day it's sunny, bright and mild and the next it's dull and dreary and there's a definite nip in the air! Yes transitional dressing can be a tough one to navigate!

Our solution to this is.. Layering!

Here at Amy Lynn we love the idea of making our wardrobes really work hard for us and wearing our fave pieces the whole year round. The focus this season is still very much on the Alexa puffball dress.. we just can't get enough of it.. and it looks as though you guys feel the same way!

Puff ball dresses first appeared in the 80's taking inspiration from fashion in the 18th century and earlier but more recently from Balenciaga's 'Balloon skirt' in the 1950's. As we all know fashion is circular and a couple of years ago they started showing up again on the catwalks and here at Amy Lynn the Alexa puff ball dress was born!

During the summer these versatile puffball dresses are just perfect for those warm sunny days worn with a pair of tan leather flats.. a cool cotton skirt and a bandeau top.. no nasty tan lines on shoulders here!  We adore the milk colour way during the summer months.. flattering on all skin tones and a great shade to team with natural leather accessories.

Equally great for the evening worn with heels this is one hard working effortless style!

And of course as soon as those nights start drawing in we are simply adding an extra layer!.. The bandeau top is perfect for adding a lightweight layer.. think chunky knit for the day and a faux leather jacket for the evening.

Easy to wear with chunky boots and tights for that true 80's vibe! We also love this style teamed with trainers for a casual day look.. throw on a cardigan for a versatile work style that can easily take you from the office to after work drinks.. perfect!
